Morocco’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (ANRT) has issued a new decision (ANRT/DG/N°12/23) outlining stricter technical specifications for the type approval of terminal equipment and radio installations.
These changes include:
Technical specification expansion: Introducing new technology standards such as 6GHz WiFi 6E, GPON, GNSS, and ESIM
Enhanced safety requirements: More stringent requirements for electromagnetic compatibility, low-voltage electrical safety, human body radio frequency exposure, etc.
Cellular devices support at least 4G: All user devices with cellular interfaces must now support at least 4G (LTE) technology
5G equipment is compatible with 5G S: 5G user equipment must be compatible with 5G SA (stand-alone) to ensure optimal network performance
