On Amazon US, products related to children, including toys, baby products, etc., will be required to provide CPC certificates, otherwise they will face risks such as product removal, payment withholding, and prosecution!
CPC certification: It is the Children’s Product Certificate (CPC), which is applicable to all products that are mainly used by children aged 12 and under, such as toys, cradles, children’s clothing, etc. If they are produced locally in the United States, the manufacturer is responsible for providing it, and if they are produced in other countries, the importer is responsible for providing it. In other words, cross-border sellers, as "importers", want to sell products produced in Chinese factories to the United States. They need to provide CPC certificates to Amazon, which is a retailer/distributor. If there is no CPC certification, if the goods are sampled for inspection, the customs will determine that they are unqualified and lead to the detention of goods. In addition, Amazon US CPC certification is a mandatory certification for children's products. If there is no CPC certification, it is impossible to sell products on the platform.
Main test contents;
For children's products, CPSC has published a total of 38 standards, mainly involving the following test contents:
1. CPSIA total lead and phthalates;
2. American toy standard ASTM F963;
3. Electric toy safety standard 16 CFR Part 1505;
4. Rattle toy requirements 16 CFR Part 1510;
5. Pacifier safety standard 16 CFR Part 1511;
6. Children's clothing, carpet combustion performance, such as 16 CFR Part 1610;
7. Infant products: strollers, cribs, fences, carriers, safety seats, bicycle helmets and other product standards.
